Editorial Team

This page lists the people responsible for what appears on The Personal Finance Report USA. Every article carries a byline, and every byline links to that writer’s archive so you can see the rest of their work.

Michael Harrington

Editor

Michael is responsible for what gets published, how it is checked, and for correcting it when it is wrong. He edits across the site’s main subjects: budgeting, debt and credit, housing and mortgages, retirement saving, and small business finance.

Editorial titles on this site describe a role in the publication, not a professional licence. Michael is not a certified financial planner, chartered financial analyst, certified public accountant or registered investment adviser, and does not present himself as one.

Articles by Michael Harrington

Contributors

We publish guest contributions from people with direct working experience of a subject. Contributors are named, and their relationship to any company or product they mention is disclosed on the article itself. The standards they are held to are the same ones our own work is held to, and they are set out in the Editorial Process.

Contributions that exist to place a link, rather than to inform a reader, are declined. The terms for anything commercial are on the Sponsored Content Policy page.

Who is accountable

Editorial decisions are not made by an anonymous committee. If an article is wrong, the responsibility sits with the editor named above, and the fix is published rather than made quietly. Report an error to [email protected] with Correction in the subject line, and see the Corrections Policy for what we do with it.

Writing for us

If you want to contribute, read the Editorial Process first, then pitch to the editor with Pitch in the subject line. Tell us what you know that a competent writer without your experience could not have written.
